One should either be a piece of art, or wear a piece of art. --Oscar Wilde

Upcoming Events

I have several shows/events lined up for this fall to tell you about:
  • September 25, Fair on The Square in downtown Lyons, KS. I will be selling my handmade soaps and other bath items.
  • October 9, "Artful Taste of Autumn" in rural Inman. This is a wonderful event that combines a fundraiser for a local art center or project, with delicious food, drink, and company in the setting of a Tuscan villa. Contact me if you would like particulars on this event as tickets sell out rather quickly. I will have handmade jewelry and silk scarves and accessories to sell there.
  • November 6-7 is McPherson's Festive Holiday Market in the Opera House building, in conjunction with McPherson Main Street's kickoff of the holiday shopping season. I will have two booths--one with handmade bath items, the other with jewelry, scarves, etc.
  • And on November 19, Robertson Chiropractic Center's "Ladies' Night" event, where I will have my line of handmade bath products.

The joy of fiddling

No, not with a fiddle. I mean as in, "fiddling around" with creating beautiful things. Right now I'm working on a pair of earrings. They're champagne cubic zirconia briolettes with scads of tiny silver wire-wrapped rondelles ~ semiprecious gemstones and fire polished crystals in ruby, amber, red, copper, and fuschia. A lot of fiddly work, but they're going to be FABULOUS!

Fiber show, new stuff

VAAM Gallery will be hosting a fiber arts show in September and October. Since I'm really focusing on making jewelry right now, I thought I'd try killing two birds with one stone by making these:

These are bangles wrapped in recycled silk yarn. They literally would go with anything and they're kind of fun! Look for them during the fiber show.

After the Barbeque

The event in Park City, "Blues Brews and BBQ", was fun! And although I didn't sell out of inventory, I sold a good bit, then we got rained out. The event continued but since we were set up outside, we had to stop. Still, it was a good time and I hope they do it again next year.

Meanwhile, I've now also got two pages set up for my businesses, on Facebook. I've added the page badges in the right column of this blog ~ you can scroll down a little bit and you'll see them. If you're not already a fan over there, I'd love to have you join! And a friend wrote two articles about the businesses, including interviews (with me) about them. "Kewl"!! Those articles are: Blue Moon Arts Studio and GreenTree Artisan Soaps.

And now I am off to create more products for the GreenTree line. A few teas, salts, and scrubs are joining the soap and bath butters. Very exciting!
